Is that new news or old news . . . that they have extended their assistance now to help families in custody disputes with the WT Society?
I think it's great.

I think it's great.
i have two cats.
one is a fat female cat.
i have one of those soaker tubs and when i soak in it, she will sit on the back ledge and bury her head in my hair and just purr up a storm.
I miss the cats climbing on my chest and belly at night. They are so sweet and cuddly then. I also like them rubbing against me to mark me as their property. You don't own a cat; they own you (and your property). That's why they had to go live outside; they kept peeing in my bed.I miss their company, though.
I can't stand the dogs downstairs. They are always in the way, making noise, stinking things up, making me sneeze. I can live without dogs.
this is the newest member of our family.
she is a miniature long haired dachshund.
her name is sierra.
Adorable! Hope she lives long and happily and brings you all great joy. Keep her safe and healthy!
ok, where do i start?
.
forgive me god for posting on this forum.... there, i already feel better .
YTF would an all-knowing god need or want any body's confession?
I guess it's just a church's way to bribe or blackmail the members into "dontating" more money, time and resources.
Confession in a religious setting is something I regard as a scam and a waste of time.
Better to confess to a mental health pro than to a priest or elder.
At least the counselor is up front and not gonna' offer absolution for a price - just a chance to talk in privacy and sort things out.
"blizzard targets northeast".
"record snow falls for date in chicago".
"hearing on 'warming of planet' cancelled because of ice storms".

I don't post here because I think I change people . . . I don't feel a need to spend several hours preparing a detailed essay just to please . . . . . . . and get my grade. So in the spirit of an independent writer I say 'Abaddon go soak your head if you think I'll dance to your tune'. Ah feels much better. . . . despite reading extensively . . .not having read everything) and balancingthe arguments against each other I am still utterly unconvinced that humans are that influential in global systems. Scare tactics sell newspapers, garner research grants, open up new sales avenues and are cool. We love to blame humans for everything (if temperatures go down we're responsible, if they go up we are responsible ad nauseum.) I contend that no matter what arguments are put forward for past temperatures we cannot do more than make educated guesses what the temperature was we don't know - it takes humans to write down exact figures nature is far too sloppy. We can no more tell exact temperatures from ice cores today than we can for the past they just aren't that accurate. I'll do my bit for global conservation of resources but I refuse to let the government put up prices to fill their coffers without a fight nor will I be motivated by fear or intimidation."
QCmmbr - Would you please try to read a bit more extensively before presenting your arguments (which frankly seem notthat accurate due to your lack of information)?
It would be better to read and understand all of the arguments before presenting your own possibly half-baked assumptions.
For instance, could you please prove to us how the ice core samples "just aren't that accurate"?
Based upon what I have read here, your "educated guesses" seem far less educated than others presented here. By presenting peer-reviewed statistical analysis and research on the matter, rather than opinions, you will make yourself a bit more credible and readable."
In the spirit of another independent writer, I'd like the facts on climate change, rather than half-baked, emotionally distraught opinions that sound an awful lot like the kind of paranoid suspiciousness the JWs teach us to have of science, government and research. For instance, where you say,"I refuse to let the government put up prices to fill their coffers without a fight nor will I be motivated by fear or intimidation." That kind of statement reminds me of my JW mom telling me I did not need dental floss as a child because it was a conspiracy to sell string.
How do attempts to stem global climate change "fill the government's coffers"? If it does accomplish that, and if the gov is able to stem the negative effects of pollution and environmental damage with that money, how is that a bad thing?

Alas, SL! If only science were as entertaining as . . . entertainment!
zarco asked this question on another thread.
should jwd have a collective view on these burning issues?
my answer, definitely not.
Long live anarchy and democracy!
just wanted to say hi to everyone and if you get a chance, drop me a line.
Hi there Wafe! Welcome to the board. I've enjoyed talking with you today. Keep coming back!
i dare to say science and religion are two different animals.
they may try to explain similar things but in different ways.
i don't believe man will ever live without either religion or science nor would i want us too.
Yeah, RAF. I have definitely gotten the impression over time that JT is Buddhist or something like that. Are you, JT?
I think the eastern and native american religious philosophies are more encompassing than other western "spiritual" or philosophical paths; but I would not choose any such path to the exclusion of logic and scientific understanding of things.
several weeks ago the issue of god's 'perfect nature' came up on a thread.
the concept of "perfection" is a persistent in vitually all faith traditions and theological constructs.. jws in particular, have an obsession with the concept of perfection and use it regularly in their propaganda: "live forever in a perfect paradise earth"; "live forever in perfect health"; "humans and animals will live together in perfect harmony", etc etc...... the point was raised about the possibility or impossibility of god being perfect.
if we begin with the basic judaeo-christian tenet that god created the universe from nothingness, then he is the designer and creator of every single entity, sentient or non-sentient, and object within reality.
Another question Wafe:
Does not the bible you believe in say that god is objective and all knowing and all-loving, and such?
If he is so objective and loving, why would he have published (or allowed to be published) such a subjective, flawed, confusing, violent, sexist, sexually explicit, and contradictory account of himself in that book?
I think god would have to ba a lot smarter than that; and if he were perfect, he would also be perfectly loving and would not point us to a book that causes so much argumentation, confusion, violence, oppression, and repression among his potential followers.
